CLOUD NINE
We designed this third-floor attic playroom for a family with a preschooler, toddler, and baby who wanted a space that would grow with their children and support the way they play for years to come.
Because this family loves to read together, creating an inviting reading nook was a top priority. The modular play sofas provide cozy spots to curl up with a favorite book, but they also transform into forts and obstacle courses, encouraging imaginative play long after story time is over.
To support active indoor play, we incorporated swings (including a baby swing), a trapeze and designed a custom two-story play fort complete with climbing bars, a cargo net climber, slide, and foam pit. Whether they're climbing to the loft, racing down the slide, or jumping into the foam pit, there are endless opportunities to build strength, coordination, confidence, and creativity through play.
The children also love putting on performances, so a stage was a must! Complete with curtains and backstage storage for dress-up clothes and costumes, it's the perfect setting for everything from puppet shows to Broadway-worthy productions.
We also created a dedicated maker space with accessible art supply storage and a magnetic art gallery to celebrate their latest masterpieces. Every element of this custom playroom was intentionally designed to encourage reading, creativity, gross motor play, and imaginative play, creating a beautiful space the whole family will enjoy for years to come.
