The Ultimate Climbing Fort Playroom

This basement playroom was designed for a fun-loving, active family looking to create a space that could better support their kids’ energy, creativity, and love of movement.

We transformed it into a dynamic kids climbing playroom with a 3D climbing wall, sherbet-striped monkey bars, and a custom foam pit with a playful pink interior. One of our favorite parts of this project was collaborating with the kids on the design. They played a hands-on role in choosing the colors, bringing their personalities into the space and making it truly their own.

At the center of it all is a custom-built climbing fort, complete with a slide and cargo net tunnel that loops back to the climbing wall, creating endless opportunities for movement and imaginative play. Climbing, swinging, and navigating the fort helps build strength, coordination, and confidence, while giving kids a fun way to reset and regulate.

Now, it’s a go-to hangout for playdates, after-school energy bursts, and pretend play.

We also made space for creativity. The family loved arts and crafts but needed a better system for displaying and accessing supplies. A modular pegboard art wall keeps everything visible and within reach, making it easy for the kids to get inspired and start creating.
